How do I get an epiphone/ibanez/fender electric guitar from the US to India?

I wanted to get an electric guitar from the US to India as it is much cheaper over there.I wanted to get it safe and with low shipping.Is there a way to get it?Please help.P.S.-Will I be charged duties[I heard a person can get any item worth a max of RS 25000 without duties]Any help would be appreciated.Thanks.

It is only worth shipping high end guitars internationally as it will cost you anywhere from $200-300. Not much on a $2500 Les Paul but a bigger percentage of a $800 Strat.

I strongly advise using local instruments until you find a good import near where you live. Fender Squier India make excellent Strats. Alternately use a recommended eBay dealer in the US who has a good feedback record. You can immediately check if he has sent guitars to overseas customers.
