where can i learn how to repair guitars?
im 16 and i would really love to learn the art of repairing and refurbishing guitars. have NO idea how to, or where to learn. is there a book, dvd or anything i could get to teach me the basics and then the hard parts? i want to because if i learn how to, i may persure my dream of opening my own music store!
A school of luthiers may be located by inquiring at your local music store. Sometimes the Yellow Pages may advertise.
Your objective is to become a luthier, an occupation of both skill, common sense, and reason. It helps to play the guitar too, but it isn’t required.
I had a Gibson Acoustic Guitar that was banged to hell and back repaired by a luthier in Little Rock. He couldn’t play the thing, but he knew how to tune one.
